Thanks to nateola for pointing out an interesting linguistic blend of what appears to be a new Japanese word: baikorehhtahh 「バイコレーター」 which is a portmanteau of the words “bike” and “escalator”.

That looks like an odd thing to use. In the diagram, the person is standing to the side of the bike, but there’s no clear area for them to walk alongside the bike while it’s going up the escalator. I think it’d be more likely that people will ride up to it, and then sit on the seat and walk their legs up the side as the bike goes up.
yeah, you are right. it does look a little inconvenient. i wonder what the yellow line part way up the escalator is?
